Tract for teens and adults. While studying in the U.S. the author heard someone say “Bah Humbug.” Confused about the meaning, he eventually discovered it was what Scrooge said in Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” to show his distaste for Christmas celebrations. Many people do not get what the Christmas fuss is all about. Growing up, the author thought Christmas was about eating delicious food, eating cake and buying and getting presents. It was something just for kids to enjoy. But in university he started going to church and reading the Bible and discovered for the first time that Christmas is much more. It is the celebration of the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ. He learned the Christmas songs he had sung as a child, without understanding the meaning, were hymns of great joy about Jesus who was born to save everyone. The joy of the church people became his joy and he became a Christian. Scrooge encountered 3 ghosts who took his thoughts off himself to others. He could not change the past but could change the future. He was transformed and showed kindness to others. Quotes Luke 2:10-11. In Christmas God gave an event of great joy to all people. God loves all, even people like Scrooge. So we need to love each other. Won’t you go to church this Christmas? If so, you will not say “Bah Humbug” but will say “Merry Christmas.” Full color.
